Barracuda playoff game set

June 30, 2008 - Intense Football League (Intense)
CenTex Barracudas News Release

The CenTex Barracudas Professional Indoor Football team will be hosting its first-ever Intense Football League playoff game in the Bell County Expo Center on July 12 against the Alaska Wild.

After much controversy among league owners concerning the original plan to play first round playoff games during the July 4th weekend, and following a wild Saturday night of crucial and surprising IFL games, the post-season tournament has been set. Six teams will be competing to play in the Intense Bowl championship game July 26. The IFL champion will then qualify for the first-ever National Indoor Football championship game against the champion of the United Indoor Football (UIF) league.

Former Texas Longhorn players Chris Duliban and Kerry Cash have coached the Barracudas (8-6, third-place finish) to their best season in franchise history. The UT connection continues on the field as ex-Longhorn quarterback James Brown teams with IFL veteran star Olan Coleman to form one of the most prolific offensive units in the league. Defensively, linebacker J.R. Turner (second in the league in tackles, 69.0) and defensive back Roderick Knight (third in interceptions, 12) lead the unit that held undefeated defending champion Louisiana to a season-low 45 points two weeks ago.

Leading up to the exciting playoff matchup between CenTex and Alaska July 12, I will be producing regular features on the Barracuda coaches and players, and we would appreciate any coverage you can give us to get the area communities informed and excited about this upcoming IFL post-season event.

Thank you for your coverage and interest in our team all season long. Please let me know how I can make your job easier as the Barracudas continue their record-breaking season in quest of the IFL title.
