After the wild success of the JackHammerBaseball.com On-Line Easter Egg Hunt, the Orange Crush is bringing the hunt back in honor of the JackHammers Fan Fest! Head to
www.jackhammerbaseball.com anytime between now and Friday, May 7th and start your search. Find the hidden Fan Fest logo somewhere in the pages of the team's website, not including those of the "news page" or "main page" of the website. Once you find the hidden logo, send an email to info@jackhammerbaseball.com with the location of the logo and be sure to include your name, address, and phone number. All those that email back will be placed in a drawing to win prizes ranging from Opening Day tickets, JackHammers jerseys, hats, and more!
The JackHammers will host their first ever Fan Fest Saturday, May 8th at Silver Cross Field. The jam-packed event will feature the MLB Pitch Hit and Run Competition, rummage sale, season ticket holder party and the JackHammers first Spring Training game against the Steel City Aces. Admission for the entire day is absolutely free.
The day kicks off with the Aquafina MLB Pitch Hit and Run Competition at 9 a.m., where kids ages 7-14 will compete for the opportunity for an all expense paid trip to the 2010 MLB All-Star Game. The Fan Fest will officially get underway at 10 a.m. and fans can walk away with some sweet, albeit previously used, appliances with our Rummage Sale. Old TV's, refrigerators and even some apparel will be available to purchase.
"The JackHammers Fan Fest will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the behind the scenes and inner workings of the JackHammers organization," commented Director of Promotions and Community Relations Sean Keegan. "It's going to be an exciting day and a great way to kick off the 2010 season."
The season ticket holders' pickup party allows all season ticket holders to drop by and take their 2010 season tickets home for the first time. All suite package holders can swing by for their suite tickets, too. Single game tickets will also go on sale for the first time on May 8th. All General Admission and Lawn Seats are only five dollars and Box Seats only cost ten dollars.
Fan Fest will also be fans first opportunity to see the 2010 JackHammers in action as the club takes on their farm team, the Steel City Aces, at 1:10 p.m. The players will be available for a meet and greet on the field prior to the game and kids can play inflatable games throughout the contest. The concession stand will be open for all fans to enjoy.
LOOSE GRAVEL:
The Joliet JackHammers 2010 Home Opener will be Friday, May 28th at 7:10pm against the Lake County Fielders, one of two Northern League expansion teams. Season tickets, group outings, and suites are available now by contacting the JackHammers Ticket Department at 815.726.BALL (2255).
