"The Game" Returns To Reading Express

January 28, 2009 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA)
Reading Express News Release

Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski announced today that he has signed former Indiana State stand -out and grad and Former Express Defensive End, Adam Vogel.

In the first two years of the Reading Express, Adam had back to back outstanding seasons including being named to the First Team All-League team both years. In year three, Adam played for Quad City in AF2, where he had a typical Adam Vogel season, playing hard, working out and chasing QB's down.

"Adam is a 6'4" 265lb Defensive End, but he can play any of the three spots on the line as well as stepping back into a LB position. We also would consider using Adam in some backfield sets if the opportunity presents itself. Adam and I have kept in close contact over the past year including a trip to Wilkes Barre to watch Adam play in a playoff game last season. Our talks this past off season turned into a possible return to Reading and a run at that AIFA championship, he was so close to in our 2007 season." said Nowotarski. He is one of the hardest working football players I have ever been associated with. His gym routine is relentless and he practices like he is in a game everyday, he just doesn't stop working to better himself and get the edge on his opponent."In two seasons here, Adam had 38 sacks, applied constant pressure from his DE position and is an over-all team leader. His community work here is just as awesome as his field presence.

"Once Adam and I were able to get his work situation here in Reading taken care of as well as his housing, he then took the idea and discussed it with his wife Audra and his parents. With all those items being taken care of, Adam called me on Monday night and gave the nod and the great news of his return back to Reading to play for The Express. I am thrilled to have Adam back and I know his leadership and work ethic will be felt here instantly, said Nowotarski."
