San Angelo Stampede Express News Release


Can you feel it? The excitement is building as the start to the 2006 regular season is rapidly approaching. The rumble you hear in the distance could only be one thing... The San Angelo Stampede Express charging in for a championship season.

The team is thrilled at the level of support and excitement the community has shown. The organization has been out and about all over town, including a very successful 2 weeks at the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. New sponsors are coming aboard daily, and the team is rapidly approaching its goal of 1,000 season tickets sold.

The team is nearly set. Head Coach JT Smith is taking his professional experience to the next level by building what will be a championship team. The team has made numerous signings since the final tryout on February 18, including some local talent that should be familiar to the fans. Announcements naming the new signees will be made in the near future. Best of all, training camp is just over a month away, and the team's exhibition game with Odessa is 2 months from this Saturday.

The spirit level is running high. The rosters of both the 17 member Express Team and 20 member Jr. Express Team Dancers have both been completed. Stomper also has its face behind the mask. Thanks to them and with the help of Termite Todd the crowd will be rockin' the Coliseum all season long.

The Stampede Express will begin their 3rd season with an exhibition game in Odessa on April 22, 2006. The first of 7 action packed home games at the San Angelo Coliseum will be against the CenTex Barracudas on April 29. Season and individual game tickets are currently available at the Stampede Express offices located at the San Angelo Convention Center or by calling 947-DOWN (3696) or 653-9577.
