Published on July 24, 2018 under Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) News Release
DALLAS - The Dallas Sidekicks organization joins MASL teams across America this season and is excited to return under a new, passionate ownership group that includes prominent sports executive Michael Hitchcock. Hitchcock has a deep understanding of professional soccer through his 12+ year career in Major League Soccer and his leadership roles with MLS teams FC Dallas and LA Galaxy, and will be a major asset to the organization.
Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Commissioner Joshua Schaub states, "The MASL is proud to announce the return of the Dallas Sidekicks for the 2018-2019 season. The team's high quality talent and passion was greatly missed last year; however, it was a vital time for the organization to intentionally reorganize and regroup to prepare for this season and beyond. We're looking forward to seeing the powerful players head coach Simon Bozas brings to the league this year."
The team returns with top talent that includes Cameron Brown and Ricardinho Cavalcante, who is returning for his last season in professional indoor soccer. Head coach Simon Bozas is currently wrapping up his selection process and will announce the final roster soon.
Bozas says, "No longer do we have what we call rookies. The core 18 players have been well developed as both players and leaders, and every player has two or more seasons under his belt. The Dallas Sidekicks organization is very excited about the strength of the new team coming into this season, and we are eager to share their talent and the energy it brings with our community and the other MASL teams."
When asked about the upcoming season, Bozas says, "You do not want to miss this dynamic season. We're committed to bringing the very best to our fans in DFW and beyond. Our staff and team along with our community partners are more motivated than ever to succeed this season." He goes on to say, "I know their passion for the game and dedication to succeed. Our players deeply love and appreciate the game and their fans, and are excited to be coming back this season."
The Dallas Sidekicks will announce the home opener and other notable news in the coming months.
