Columbus Clippers News Release
The National Champion Columbus Clippers will be home this weekend to play the Syracuse Chiefs. The Champs have been on a roll of late... winning five in a row, including three straight games where we won on the last pitch of the game! Pretty exciting!
We have a lot of fun things going on at the park this weekend. Tonight (Friday) starts with Happy Hour from 5 PM to 7 PM Friday; all ticketed fans may enjoy music by Marquis 66 in the Right Field Plaza, along with $1 ribs from City Barbeque, $2 domestic and $3 premium drafts. Also, all SEASON TICKET HOLDERS are welcome in the Tansky Club behind home plate, with the same drink specials!
The Zany Zooperstars will entertain between innings for kids of all ages.
Saturday there will be music before the game at Party-At-The Park in right field plaza with the Six Foot Blonde Band.
Former Major League greats will be signing autographs for free in the concourse from 6 PM until 7:30 PM. The roster includes Hall of Fame pitcher Fergie Jenkins, National League MVP George Foster, World Series MVP Bucky Dent, Cincinnati great Lee May Sr., and Cleveland legends Mike Hargrove and Len Barker.
Also on Saturday, enjoy knitting, cross stitching and needle-pointing at the 3rd annual "Stitch N' Pitch" Night at Huntington Park.
On Sunday the gates open at 1:30 PM for the 25th annual Fantasy Game. Come out early and watch the legends play one last time.
Sunday is also Bob Evans Family Day. Families of two adults and up to four children 18 and under are admitted to General Admission for just $15!
Also the first 2,000 fans will receive teal-colored water bottle compliments of Mount Carmel, as part of our Ovarian Cancer Awareness Night.
Something cool that you don't see everyday... a Budweiser Clydesdale will be at Huntington Park on Sunday before the game. Check out this magnificent animal up close.
Plus there is the great baseball of your Champion first place Columbus Clippers!
If you're planning ahead... this Thursday, August 11 is the last day game of the season. It's a good time to kick your feet up, relax with something cold to drink and enjoy a game!
Also, don't forget, if you have tickets for the games that were rained out in this spring, be sure to exchange them for a game this month. There are only 15 home games left this season! Check the schedule at clippersbaseball.com.
