Syracuse Mets News Release
Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are pleased to announce the return of Noche de Beisbol Latino to Alliance Bank Stadium on Monday, August 8, when the Chiefs host the Buffalo Bisons at 7:00pm.
One of the highlights of this year's event will once again be the Spanish language broadcast of the evening's game on TWCS2. The Chiefs and Time Warner Cable Sports made history last August 26 with the first ever Spanish language broadcast in the history of the International League.
Roberto Clemente, Jr. will handle play-by-play duties with former Chiefs infielder Bob Nandin providing color commentary on the Spanish language side for the second consecutive season. The broadcast team of Jason Benetti and Steve Grilli will be in the booth for the English language broadcast on Time Warner Cable Sports. Outside of Central New York, both the Spanish and English language productions will also be available in Buffalo on Time Warner Cable SportsNet.
On the field, Chiefs players and coaches will add color to the night by wearing specially-made "Los Chiefs" jerseys and hats for the game. The Latin American themed jerseys feature a yellow body with green sleeves and red trim to go with a yellow and green hat with a red brim.
Centerplate, the official food service provider of Alliance Bank Stadium, will bring added flavor to the night at a pre-game fiesta in the Hank Sauer Room beginning at 6:00pm when the ballpark gates open. Drink specials will be available at the bar and there will not be a cover charge to enter the room. The fiesta menu will feature 6" soft tacos with choice of seasoned chicken or ground beef ($2.00 each); nachos deluxe featuring spicy cheese, salsa verde & black bean salsa ($2.00); Mexican pizza bites (3/$1.00); Chorizo-spiced refried beans ($1.00); Spanish rice ($1.00); and homemade churros (2/$1.00).
"We are very excited about the various elements of this year's Latino Baseball Night," said Chiefs General Manager John Simone. "Last year's event was a unique and historic opportunity, and we are looking forward to building upon that success with another great night."
Tickets for all remaining Syracuse Chiefs home games can be purchased in person at the Chiefs ticket office at Alliance Bank Stadium, by calling 315-474-7833, or online at SyracuseChiefs.com.
