KENNESAW, Ga.- Florida Launch vs. Atlanta Blaze Box Score

The Atlanta Blaze lit up the Florida Launch when they went to FAU stadium on Saturday, May 21st to play the Launch. Though the Launch scored the first goal, the Blaze quickly pulled away from them and broke out to an early lead that never truly stopped, and they topped the Launch 22-10

On the Blaze side, Kevin Rice and Josh Dionne both had hat tricks during the game, and two-point goals were scored by Scott Ratliff and Joe Locascio in quick succession in the second quarter. Connor Buczek scored his own two-point goal to attempt to bring the Launch into action, but it was truly too late once the clock started.

The half ended with a score of 15-4. Kieran McArdle started off the scoring seconds in to the half, Kevin Rice putting up a pair of his own goals, and the Blaze saw shots and goals from Randy Staats, Kevin Ratliff, Josh Dionne, and the new faceoff man, Chris May. Rice and Dionne completed their first hat tricks of the game in the second quarter with Rice bringing in a fourth goal for himself. Staats added another goal while Connor Buczek brought in a goal on the Florida side. Two point goals were brought to the table by Scott Ratliff and Joe Locascio, as well as Buczek. All this action brought the score to 15-4 by halftime,

By the third quarter the Launch had found their stride, finding goals with a multitude of players. However, the momentum of the Launch had all but ended, and Jeremy Noble began the reign of the Blaze. The game ended after goals from Staats and Shayne Jackson shut down the Launch.

Ghitelman had an outstanding game, recording 13 saves against 20 goals and allowing one two point goal, relieved by Eric Schneider who saved 5 of 7 shots. The performance of these two goalkeepers is followed closely by Randy Staats (four goals and one assist), Kevin Rice (four goals and two assists) and Scott Ratliff (one goal, two two-pointers, and two assists).

The Blaze will play their next home game on June 4 th at Fifth Third Bank Stadium at 7PM.
