Also in the news, Tycoons guard Brandon Lee (6'3''-G, agency: ProSportsCareers, college: Tarleton St.) was selected from thousands of applicants to compete in the NBA D-League Pre-Draft Camp at the end of the month. Lee, a starter in the backcourt in the Tycoons run to the Championship Game, is looking forward to working out in front of NBA and NBA D-League Coaches and Scouts. Former Tycoons Stan Blackmon, Jimmie King, and Oliver Miller continue to be players on and off the court as Blackmon has gone on to star in France and Romania. Former Fab 5 member, Toronto Raptor, and Tycoon, Jimmie King has played in Venezuela and the former Sun, Piston, Raptor, Maverick, and Tycoon "Big O" Oliver Miller continues to be a mover and shaker as an entrepreneur, owning his own clothing line named "Da O Zone." Several other Tycoons have moved on to lucrative opportunities overseas as the organization continues to work hard to develop and promote the very talented players who don the Tycoons Green and Gold.
The 2006/2007 White Conference Champion and ABA Finalist Texas Tycoons look to find the next key pieces in their quest for the 07/08 crown as the organization will be hosting the Texas Tycoons Free Agent and Rookie Camp next month in DeSoto, Texas. Come be a part of one of the winningist franchises in minor league basketball. The Tycoons boast a record of 50 wins to only 12 losses over the last 2 years, including a 25-5 record en route to a finals appearance last season. The Texas Tycoons were ranked #6 in all of minor league basketball last season by probasketball.com NBA beat writer Sam Amico and led the minor leagues in scoring, averaging over 132 points per game. Amico who ranked teams from the ABA, CBA, and NBA D-League; had the Tycoons ranked just below the Sioux Falls Skyforce and just above the Colorado 14ers of the NBA D-League in his annual Minor League Power Poll.
Tycoons Head Coach Chris Terrell had this to say about the coming season "We came out one victory short of winning the championship last season and that sting will stay with us until we earn another opportunity in the final game. The White Conference and South Division banners will hang proudly in the arena but until it says League Champion, we've got unfinished business to tend to. We're hoping to find an impact player at a couple positions this off-season to help get us over the top." Here is the information for this year's Tycoons Rookie and Free Agent Camp:
