Texas Thunder Softball Partners with Hilton Galveston Resort

July 5, 2006 - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF)
Rockford Thunder News Release

LEAGUE CITY, Texas - The Texas Thunder of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) and the Hilton Galveston Resort have agreed on a deal that will award a lucky fan with a free night stay at the hotel as announced today by team general manager Aaron M. Moore.

The hotel has agreed to give one free night stay for each of the four remaining home series, including two when Team USA visits July 28-30. The certificates, valued at more than $240 per night, will be given away to the fan with the winning ticket stub.

"This is a great opportunity and partnership for the Thunder," said Moore. "Being able to giveaway something like this will definitely create some interest with our fans."

Because the drawing takes place during the game, fans must be present to win. The drawing typically takes place in the middle of the sixth inning.

The partnership with the hotel is the second such deal to be set-up with local businesses in the last couple of weeks. The Thunder also teamed up with Buffalo Wild Wings in Webster to host Thursday night with the Thunder.

Texas will look to improve on its fourth place standing this week when they host the third place and expansion Connecticut Brakettes at Big League Dreams. The series will begin on Wednesday night, July 5 at 7:05 p.m. All four games of the series are scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. at Big League Dreams in League City (I-45 and Calder Road).
