Texas Revolution News Release
DC Devin Wyman Promoted to Head Coach
In conjunction with General Manager Tim Brown getting more involved with the coaches, the Texas Revolution front office has promoted Defensive Coordinator, Devin Wyman to Head Coach effective as of 9 AM Monday morning.
As Defensive Coordinator, Coach Wyman has operated the most efficient defense in the league only allowing 35 points per game. Building his staff along with Tim Brown, the team expects to keep all players currently on the roster.
Wyman, drafted by Bill Parcels and the New England Patriots in the 6th round of the 1996 NFL Draft, appeared in 15 games for the AFC champions as a rookie. Living a life of faith, Wyman speaks in schools across America about his journey of tangled paths to success.
"We believe in Coach Wyman and his ability to build and maintain a winning team", said Revolution President Charlie Hildbold. "I believe this team is built to win, and am excited to see how the rest of the season plays out."
The Texas Revolution have released Wendell Davis of all football operations and coaching responsibilities, effective immediately.

Revs Lose Heartbreaker to Dodge City
Making their only trip to the historic Kansas town, it's fitting the Revs would have a shootout with the Law.
Leading the entire game and riding the likeness of a great defense, Texas seemed to have the game under wraps. Giving the Law their first lead of the game with under a minute to play, the Revolution's lack of a kicker led to a number of lost points. Only converting 2 of 8, two point conversion attempts extra points could have sealed the game.
Former Revolution receiver and back up quarterback, Josh Floyd took control of the Law's fate, leading two scoring drives within the last minute of the game giving Dodge City the 55-52 win.
The Revs now (2-2) play host to Amarillo this coming Saturday inside the Allen Event Center.
Frankie Solomon Jr. CIF Special Teams POW
Texas Revs defensive back and special teams superstar Frankie Solomon Jr. earned recognition from the CIF as the Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against the Dodge City Law this past weekend. This is the first special teams Player of the Week award of the season for Solomon, who is no stranger to the honor, after taking it home many times in the past.
Solomon tallied 8 kickoff returns for 121 yards in his performance against the Law, with a long return of 24 yards. As a jack-of-all-trades for the Revolution, Frankie stepped in this week to help the kicker-less team with kick-offs and field goals. Solomon went 0-1 on field goals with his only attempt being blocked by the Law.
Although we're hoping we never have to see Solomon's leg on display again, we know Frankie will continue to tear up special teams in his role as returner. Solomon will be leading the Revs defense and special teams back to the Allen Event Center this week on Saturday, April 4th to take on the Amarillo Venom and get back to winning ways for the Revs!
