Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX, (Nov. 18, 2013) - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), have partnered with HCFS, a local company that assists individuals and organizations with health care needs, to present "PSC Night" at the Legends' game. Legends players will wear unique "PSC" jerseys in their home opener November 22.
Rick Faling served as the President of HCFS for eight years before he was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis. Since his diagnosis, HCFS employees have worked to raise support and awareness, partnering with PSC Partners for a Cure.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for us to help raise awareness in the community for PSC while also bringing HCFS together to celebrate Rick's life" Legends' owner Donnie Nelson stated. "HCFS works endlessly to give back to our community so this is a great way for us to showcase their work and recognize the role that Rick played in all of that."
The Legends will wear customized jerseys celebrating Rick Faling, uniquely branded with both the Legends logo and HCFS. Select jerseys will be available via a silent auction during the game, with all proceeds going back to PSC Partners for a Cure. As part of the festivities of the night, select individuals from HCFS will be recognized as "Legends of the Night."
The Legends face the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 7 pm on November 22. The game will be the first of the season for both teams and the first of a double header which will be the only times they will face one another this season. The Legends finished the 2012-13 season 21-29 while Fort Wayne finished second in the East Division at 27-23.
Texas is coached by second-year head coach Eduardo Najera and Fort Wayne will be led by former Los Angeles D-Fenders assistant and first year head coach Conner Henry.
The game will be broadcast on KTXD47. For more information on the team or the full season schedule visit www.TexLegends.com.
