Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release
Wilkes-Barre, PA â The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers announced today that 2002 Head Coach Terry Karg is not re-signing his league contract for the 2003 season. The arenafootball2 league requires returning coaches to submit 2003 contracts by September 30, 2002.
"We support Coach Karg's decision to pursue new opportunities. This league is a developmental league for both players and coaches. Terry did an exceptional job for us during the first season. We'll continue to help Terry achieve his coaching goals, and he'll continue to be a valued friend of this organization," said Pioneers General Manager Rick Sneed.
"I would like to thank team operator Greg Smith for the opportunity to coach the Pioneers in their inaugural season. I was very fortunate to work with a great front office staff. I want to also thank the staff for their efforts in making the season a great experience for the players, the fans and myself. I wish the Pioneers much future success," said Terry Karg.
The Pioneers are currently in discussions with coaching candidates for the 2003 season. Information will be available as soon as a decision is finalized.
