
Tennessee Valley Gets Blitzed

Bakersfield - The Bakersfield Blitz continue their win streak while taking on the Tennessee Valley Vipers on Saturday, June 10 in Alabama. The Blitz finished on top with the final score 55-32. The win brings the Blitz to an overall record of 7-3.
1st Quarter The first touchdown was scored by the Vipers late in the first quarter of the game. The Blitz scored shortly after with Pesavento's 4 yard touchdown pass to OS Rennard Reynolds. With both teams able to gather PATs, the first quarter ends at Blitz 7, Vipers 7.
2nd Quarter In the second quarter, Pesavento had an 8 yard touchdown pass to Reynolds. Reynolds' third touchdown of the game came next with a 15 yard pass from Pesavento. WR/LB Eric Mahanke had a touchdown as well, a 14 yard pass from Pesavento. With the Vipers squeezing in two touchdowns, the first half ended at Blitz 28, Vipers 17.
3rd Quarter The third quarter started off good for the Blitz with WR/DS Shawndell Tucker's interception in the end zone, followed by Pesavento's first touchdown of the season. Reynolds' 23 yard catch made it his fourth touchdown of the game. The Vipers had one touchdown. The third quarter ended at Blitz 42, Vipers 24.
4th Quarter Mahanke's second touchdown came with a 15 yard pass from Pesavento while dragging a defender in the end zone. The Vipers were able to score but it wasn't enough, especially after Reynolds fifth and final touchdown in the last minutes of the game. Pesavento finished the night completing 23 passes, 7 of which resulted in a touchdown, and one touchdown of his own. Reynolds totaled 8 catches for 110 yards and five touchdowns. The game ended at Blitz 55, Vipers 32.
The Blitz will be on the road again on Saturday, June 17 when they face the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of af2's National Midwest Division. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. (CT).
