SACRAMENTO, California - Rio Grande Valley FC (4-5-8) faced Sacramento Republic FC (9-2-6) for the first time in 2023, on the road. Taylor Davila played the hero role in added time to hand RGV FC a road draw that was key to table positioning.

The opening half saw both teams test the waters in the attacking thirds as they managed some creativity up front.

Sacramento Republic forced Tyler Deric's hand in the early goings of the first half, leading to two important saves to keep the match notched scoreless going into the locker room. Republic FC managed three shots, two on target; in contrast the Toros kept busy as they took eight shots, placing two on target to disrupt the home side.

Taylor Davila said, not so fast at the 96th minute as he found some space in traffic and sent a curling shot perfectly placed to the right post to equalize the match and send RGV FC home with a valuable point as their unbeaten streak reaches five in a row.
