Jupiter, FL. - After dropping game won of a three game series against the Palm Beach Cardinals (10-8) your Hammerheads (8-10) looked to bounce back, received a serviceable start from Luis Castillo in last night's one run extra inning victory and went into today's ball game looking to win back-to-back series' and two games in a row.

Michael Mader allowed one run on one hit, walked four and struck out four in a no-decision as the Cards and Sharks were locked in a pitcher's duel until the 8th inning.

Taylor Ard had himself a day! Ard finished 2-for-3 with 3 RBI's, earning his first three RBI day and propelling the Hammerheads to a series win!

Brian Schales finished 1-for-4 with one run scored, Brian Anderson went 1-for-2 with one run scored and two base-on-balls. John Norwood completed his day 1-for-3.

Quote of the Day

Taylor Ard, "Felt pretty good to grab an early 2-0 lead. We hit a lull and grinded it out to clinch the series against our pseudo rivals. The RBI's would not have been possible without Anderson, Schales and Kjerstad getting on base, so I tip my cap to them. The game really slowed down for me and I saw different assortment of pitches. It is huge to get this series win right before an off-day that gives us a chance to re-charge for the upcoming series."

Chris Mazza was solid out of the pen, allowed two hits and one run, with two strikeouts. Esmerling De La Rosa ultimately got the win finishing off the final 1.2 innings with two hits allowed and one walk but no runs. The pitching staff for your Hammerheads held Palm Beach to a .186 batting average and an on-base percentage at .325 with 20 strikeouts in three games.

The Florida State League has an off day tomorrow as your Hammerheads prepare to host Fort Myers. Jupiter took two out of three from the Miracle (9-8) over the last week and will send Jorgan Cavanerio (0-2, 7.36 ERA) to the bump looking for three consecutive series wins and keep on creeping back to the .500 mark.
