Tavares named Overall Player of the Week

John Tavares of the Buffalo Bandits has been named the Overall Player of the Week for the second time this season. Tavares lead the Bandits to victories over both Toronto and Anaheim in Week #8 action. Tavares scored two goals and four assists for six points in a 13-9 win over Toronto on February 13th and three goals, three assists for six points in a 13-11 win over Anaheim on February 14th.

Jeff Ratcliffe of the Philadelphia Wings was named the Offensive Player of the Week for his eight-point performance in the Wings 16-12 victory over the Arizona Sting on February 14th. Ratcliffe scored four goals and added four assists.

Pat O'Toole of the Rochester Knighthawks was named the Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Knighthawks 10-9 win over San Jose on February 14th. O'Toole held the Stealth to nine goals and recorded 45 saves.

Ryan Ward of the Philadelphia Wings was named the Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Wings 16-12 win over Arizona on February 14th. Ward scored one goal, and tallied two assists for three points while collecting six loose balls in the game.

Jeff Ratcliffe (Philadelphia) scored 4g, 4a, 8pts in a 16-12 win over Arizona.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Pat O'Toole (Rochester) recorded 45 saves and nine goals against in a 10-9 win over San Jose.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Ryan Ward (Philadelphia), scored 1g, 2a, 3pts and 6LB in 16-12 win over Arizona.

OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

John Tavares (Buffalo) scored 2g, 4a, 6pts in a 13-9 road win over Toronto and 3g, 3a, 6pts in a 13-11 win over Anaheim.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers & Head Coaches of the league's ten member clubs.
