COACHING CONNECTION
Tampa Bay Defensive Coordinator Jerry Glanville and Houston Roughnecks Head Coach/General Man- ager June Jones have an extensive history together, dating back to their time with the Atlanta Falcons in the 1970's...Both Jones and Glanville joined the Falcons in 1977 - Jones as a quarterback and Glanville as the defensive backs coach. Following the end of Jones' playing career, he reunited with Glanville as the quarterbacks coach for the Houston Oilers team that Glanville was the head coach of. When Glan- ville took over as the Falcons head coach in 1991, Jones joined his staff as the offensive coordinator...
Following Glanville's brief retirement from coaching and time spent as a broadcaster with HBO, CBS, and FOX, the pair reunited again in 2005 when Glanville joined Jones' staff at the University of Hawaii as the team's defensive coordinator.

POUND THE ROCK
Tampa Bay's position as the third most productive offense in the league is due in large part to the team's ability to run the ball effectively...Through two weeks, the Vipers rank second in the league in rushing yards per game (145.5), trailing only St. Louis (158.5). Tampa Bay's 4.7 yards per carry are also second-highest in the league, behind only Dallas (5.9)...
RB De'Veon Smith (125) and RB Jacques Patrick (105) are the only pair of backfield mates to have each eclipsed 100 rushing yards on the season.
SERIES NOTES: After opening the season with two consecutive road games, including a cross-country trip to Seattle on a short week, Tampa Bay returns home to host the Houston Roughnecks in the Vipers' historic home opener...The Vipers will play a Western Division team for the second time in three weeks as they face off against a 2-0 Houston team in the lone matchup between the two teams this season.
