
Tammy Sutton-Brown to Represent Charlotte Sting during NBA All-Star Week

Charlotte Sting center Tammy Sutton-Brown will travel to Denver this week to participate in festivities surrounding the 2005 NBA All-Star Weekend. A 2002 WNBA All-Star, Sutton-Brown will take part in a number of community appearances and promotional activities surrounding the 54th Annual NBA All-Star Game, which will be held on Sunday, February 20 (8:00 p.m. EST) at the Pepsi Center.
Sutton-Brown will tip off her week on Tuesday, February 15 by participating in a Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Basketball and Books Clinic at the Glenarm Recreation Center. Other events she will be involved in throughout the week include the Gatorade Games and a WNBA Mind. Body. Spirit. Clinic with Girls Incorporated on Wednesday, February 16, a skills challenge on Friday, February 18 and an arena competition at the ESPN Zone on Saturday, February 19.
In addition, she will participate in numerous Read To Achieve events and fan autograph sessions at the NBA Jam Session throughout the week. Joining Sutton-Brown at All-Star Weekend will be 20 other WNBA players including Phoenix's Diana Taurasi, Los Angeles' Lisa Leslie, Detroit's Swin Cash and Ruth Riley, Indiana's Tamika Catchings and Connecticut's Lindsay Whalen.
Sutton-Brown will enter her fifth season in the WNBA this spring and averaged 9.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game last year. Drafted by the Sting with the 18th overall pick in 2001, Sutton-Brown has played in 129 career games and ranks as the all-time blocked shots leader (196) in franchise history.
The Charlotte Sting will open their ninth season on May 21 at the Charlotte Coliseum as they host the Washington Mystics at 6 p.m. Season ticket plans begin at just $102 and are available now by calling a ticket sales representative at (704) 424-WNBA.
