Talons Lend Helping Hand to Students

Tulsa, OK- The Tulsa Talons of the arenafootball2 League announced that two dollars from every ticket sold for this Saturday's second-round playoff game between the Talons the Hawaiian Islanders will go to Tulsa Public Schools. In addition, the first 250 children 12 years old and under through the door will receive a free backpack courtesy of Arby's, Pepsi, Channel 2 and the Talons. The contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Tulsa Convention Center.

The second-seeded Talons (13-3) are looking to advance to the National Conference championship game for the first time in franchise history. Tulsa is riding a three-game winning streak that began on July 12, when the Talons edged the Islanders, 48-47. That victory gave the Talons their second Central Division championship in as many seasons. The third-seeded Islanders (11-6) defeated the fourth-seeded Wichita Stealth, 57-30, last weekend in the first round of the af2 playoffs to earn a rematch with Tulsa. The Talons are a perfect 3-0 in the overall series with the Islanders.

Tickets for this Saturday's contest are available at local Drug Marts, the Tulsa Convention Center Box Office, the Talons office, or by phone at 584-2000.
