Take 5 with Lewy's Legion - Stephanie Foster & Dottie Patria

February 15, 2011 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release

Stephanie and Dottie may bundle up with a blanket in their seats at the Colisee, but don't take them for fair-weather fans. These women are true Maineiacs aficionadas. Dottie and her husband checked the league out when the Maineiacs first came to town, but they only made a few games per month due to John's work schedule. Dottie then took Stephanie to a game a few years ago, and Stephanie reveals, "I fell in love with the sport and the team and have been hooked since!" The women decided to become season ticket holders shortly thereafter, and their husbands join them when schedules allow. "Our tickets and seats are off limits to the guys! They get seats next to us if they are available," Stephanie lays it down, but "if not, they are on their own when it comes to seeing the game." Dottie agrees, "We NEVER let the guys have our tickets. Only something major keeps us away from the games."

Favorite moments in the 2010-2011 Maineiacs season so far include coming from behind, scoring with less than a minute to play, and winning in a shoot out (Dottie), and the entire season - "It's been an exciting year, and the team is doing awesome" (Stephanie). And while there have been favorite players in past seasons, neither woman will single out a favorite player this year. "We have an outstanding team," Stephanie remarks, and Dottie agrees, "The whole team is awesome. They are playing so well together, and it's fun to watch.

Calling attention to the high quality of Maineiacs hockey, Dottie and Stephanie want current and potential fans to know: "The Maineiacs can't leave...ever!" (Stephanie), and "They need to know how great these kids are. They need to go to some games and support this team, so that we will have hockey in this area for a long time to come" (Dottie). Both women follow the Bruins, but Maineiacs hockey comes first. Knowing the players and seeing the action live makes all the difference. Of course sitting within earshot of the visiting coaches also adds a special element!

Thank you to Stephanie, Dottie, and all season ticket holders for supporting our players. If you see Dottie singing along to "This is our house..." after a Maineiacs goal, join in. This IS our house!
