T2 Head Coach Jay Vidovich Appointed Head Men's Soccer Coach at University of Pittsburgh

PORTLAND, Ore. - T2 head coach Jay Vidovich has been appointed head coach of the men's soccer program at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa., it was announced today.

"We will continue to invest and grow the T2 program and we wish Jay all the best in his return to the collegiate level," said Gavin Wilkinson, general manager of T2 and the Portland Timbers.

Vidovich, who originally joined T2 on Dec. 18, 2014, as the club's first head coach, guided T2 to an 11-15-2 (35pts) overall record during the club's inaugural USL season in 2015. T2 registered a 7-7-0 record at home and finished seven points shy of a spot in the postseason.

The Detroit, Mich., native returns to the collegiate ranks where he previously built Wake Forest into an Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) soccer powerhouse in 21 seasons as head coach (1994-2014). Under Vidovich's guidance, Wake Forest captured five ACC regular-season championships. The program made four consecutive NCAA College Cup appearances from 2006-2009 and won its first NCAA National Championship in 2007.
