TUKWILA, Wash. - T2 could not overcome a two-goal, first-half deficit in a 2-0 loss against Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC 2 in front of 2,469 fans at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila, Wash., on Friday night.

T2 (7-10-2, 23pts) outshot Seattle 10-7 in the match, including 5-2 in the second half, but were unable to find a breakthrough goal on the road. Portland conceded the first goal as S2 defender Giuliano Frano headed the ball into the back of net off Aaron Kovar's free kick to take a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute.

Sounders FC 2 (11-6-3, 36pts) jumped ahead 2-0 as forward Oalex Anderson capitalized on a breakaway, cut inside his defender and curled a left-footed shot past T2 goalkeeper Justin Luthy in the 32nd minute. Seattle have only lost one match at Starfire Stadium in USL league play this season.

"This was our third game in six days against a tough opponent in a difficult place to play," said T2 head coach Jay Vidovich. "We weren't able to dig ourselves out of the first-half hole despite having some chances, but I am confident we will regroup and refocus, facing another top conference team in LA Galaxy II back at Merlo Field."

Portland's best chance of the match came from a free kick from defender Jeanderson in the 55th minute. He curled the ball up and over the wall towards the near post, but Seattle goalkeeper Saif Kerawala recovered just in time to parry the ball wide.

Following Friday's match, T2 return home to the Rose City facing a quick turnaround as they play host to LA Galaxy II at Merlo Field on Sunday, July 26; kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Pacific).
