TAMPA - The Tampa Yankees (16-19, 50-55) lost both ends of a double-header against the Bradenton Marauders (22-12, 54-50-1) on Friday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Bradenton held on to win, 5-4, in game one and capped the night with a 5-3 victory in game two.

Bradenton jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first with a two-run home run by Austin Meadows. RHP Vicente Campos responded by retiring the next six batters in a row.

The Yankees scored twice in the second, tying the game at 2-2 before an hour and 26 minute rain delay. Mike Ford, Miguel Andujar and Jake Skole each singled, loading the bases with no outs. Kyle Higashioka hit a sacrifice fly into left and Ericson Leonora hit a game-tying RBI groundout.

Following the delay, RHP Alex Bisacca made his High-A T-Yanks debut in relief of Campos in the third. Meadows drew a two-out walk and stole second, reaching third on an errant throw by catcher Higashioka. Harold Ramirez followed with a go-ahead RBI single, giving Bradenton a 3-2 lead.

Tampa quickly responded against LHP Andy Otamendi (3-5) in the home half of the third. Abiatal Avelino flashed his speed, reaching on a bunt and stealing second. Following a walk by Ford, Avelino scored on a double to left by Andujar. A relay throw by shortstop Chris Diaz caught Ford out at the plate to end the inning.

The Marauders took the lead for good against Bisacca (0-1) in the sixth. Jordan Steranka doubled and Edwin Espinal singled, placing runners on the corners. A run scored as Reese McGuire grounded into a 4-6-3 double play. An infield single by Wyatt Mathisen followed and RHP Luis Niebal enters for Tampa. Michael Fransoso greeted Niebla with an RBI triple, giving Bradenton a 5-3 lead.

The T-Yanks brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the frame. Andujar singled and later scored on a two-out RBI double by Higashioka. The Marauders brought in Montana DuRapau and the right-hander tossed the one and a third scoreless innings, earning his fifth save.

Game two began with three scoreless innings of baseball from both sides before Bradenton took advantage of a few miscues in the fourth.

Ramirez and Steranka both reached on fielding errors and advanced into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Espinal. A two-run single by Jin-De Jhang cashed in the runners, giving the Marauders a 2-0 lead.

LHP Ditrech Enns (0-1) allowed a pair of unearned runs on three hits in four and a third innings, walking one while striking out two.

Bradenton doubled its score in the fifth against RHP Giovanny Gallegos. Meadows singled and scored on a double by Ramirez. Steranka followed with an RBI single, giving Bradenton a 4-0 advantage.

Angelo Gumbs a solo home run of the season over the scoreboard in left field, cutting into the deficit. It was Gumbs' first home run of the season and first since August 7th, 2014.

RHP Felipe Gonzalez (5-4) held the Yankees to a run on four hits in five innings, walking one while striking out two.

The Yankees cut the deficit to one in the sixth. Dustin Fowler and Ford both singled, placing runners on the corners. Andujar hit a sacrifice fly into left, scoring Fowler. Jake Skole walked and Michael O'Neill reached on an error, loading the bases. One out later, Gumbs lined a single into center. Ford scored before Skole was tagged out between third and home, ending the inning.

The Marauders manufactured an insurance run in the seventh. Chris Diaz singled, sacrificed to second and tagged to third. Ramirez lined a two-out, RBI single into left, giving Bradenton a 5-3 lead.

RHP Robert Stock worked around a leadoff single and retired the side in the ninth, earning his first save of the season with Bradenton.

Gumbs (3-for-3, HR, 2 RBI) led the offense for Tampa in the later game. Avelino (4-for-8, SB, R) reached base four times in the double-header. Andujar (3-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R) is batting .406 in his last 10 games. Ford (3-for-6) scored twice.

The series continues on Saturday when RHP Rookie Davis (5-6, 3.70 ERA) matches up against LHP Cody Dickson (9-5, 4.01 ERA).
