T-Dog Promoted

Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks News Release

The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks have just announced that Terence “T-Dog” Green has been promoted to hitting coach. Green, the only player on the Ducks roster to have been with the team for four years this year, is very excited about this opportunity.

“We needed someone in this position,” says Green, “I got the respect of the guys and I think they’ll take it all in.

He’s ready to put the offense back on track. “We left a lot of players on base, that will change.” The fans should plan on seeing more running of the bases, which means more runs scored for the Ducks. “Once we put things back together, things will fall back into place like the first half.” With his experience playing with the team, Green “knows what it takes to succeed offensively.

Ducks Hire New Pitching Coach

Along with T-Dog being promoted to hitting coach, the Ducks have hired a new pitching coach. Kirk Kelly joins the team as the interim pitching coach. He had been the head baseball coach in Baitsville, Arkansas.

Kelly is “excited, it’s going to be fun, I feel like a kid!” He knows what the crowds are like because he was in them last year. “It’s a great atmosphere to be in, it’s something new and exciting,” says Kelly.

He has gotten to know most of the players and is eager to work with them. The main goal for the second half is to “get back above .500 and take it in steps. You’ve got to get past step one to get to step two.” And how will he the players past .500? Kelly is learning and watching each of the pitchers, to “learn their strong points and then we can work on the weaknesses. The pitchers and I will build on what they know.

Kelly sees a sense of urgency in field manager Phil Wilson and hitting coach Terence Green. “I can tell the players want to win,” says Kelly, and they plan on it.
