Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that the club has signed forward Luke Ferreira, pending USL Championship and USSF approval.

"Luke is an American who is returning to the USA after several years away playing in Scandinavia. He is eager to impress on his return and we look forward to him using us as a platform to showcase his abilities," said Switchbacks Head Coach, Alan Koch. "Pre-season will be vital to ensure that Luke and the other attacking players are all on the same page as we look for more offensive production in the 2020 season. We are optimistic that he will come in and have immediate success."

Ferreira, 24, most recently played for FK Jerv in the 1. divisjon, the second-highest level of the Norwegian football league system where he totaled five goals and three assists since 2018. Born in New Jersey, raised in Deerfield Beach, Florida, Ferreira has citizenship for the United States, Portugal (mother), and Brazil (father) through his parent's home countries.

"It means everything to come back to the US and join the Switchbacks after two years in Europe. I'm extremely excited to join the organization, I really believe that this next season will be one to remember and I can't wait to get started. It's a very professional environment with what seems to be an incredible group of people behind the club," said Luke Ferreira. "I believe in the club's goals for the season as well as Coach Alan's plan, so 2020 is going to be a great year and I can't wait to arrive in the beautiful [Colorado] Springs and get started!"
