
Swin Cash to assist BET's hurricane relief effort

Auburn Hills, MI - The Detroit Shock's Swin Cash will take part in The BET Relief Telethon September 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET in New York City to assist in raising funds for hurricane relief efforts.
"I don't know a single person who hasn't been deeply moved by the video footage and news reports coming out of the Gulf Coast over the past two weeks," said Cash. "We have several players and employees within the Palace Sports & Entertainment family whose lives were directly impacted by Katrina, and as an organization we are encouraging everybody to participate in the hurricane relief efforts by any means available to them, no matter how big or small."
Recording artists and entertainment personalities Jay-Z, Diddy, Master P, Stevie Wonder, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Wynton Marsalis, Ludacris and Brandy are slated to participate in the telethon which is being coordinated in conjunction with several partners, including the National Urban League, American Red Cross, Russell Simmons, the Warner Music Group and Essence Communications. Proceeds from the telethon will go to the American Red Cross.
