Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees News Release
Moosic, PA - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees are taking the first step towards the return of the team to PNC Field for the 2013 season with the announcement of season ticket packages going on sale for current season ticket holders beginning today. Season ticket packages will be available for the public on Monday, September 10th.
The Yankees have lowered the price of season tickets 25% on nearly 3,000 fixed season tickets, with prices remaining the same on the remainder of lower bowl season tickets. 90% of all season tickets at PNC Field for the 2013 season will be priced at $10 or less. Season ticket packages start at only $35 per seat.
"I have never seen in my baseball career a club open a new ballpark and lower season ticket prices," said SWB Yankees President and General Manager Rob Crain. "Our primary objective is to provide affordable, family fun entertainment and the pricing of our ticket packages accomplishes this goal."
Current season ticket holders will be given first priority to renew their seats in the same or in a similar location. The deadline for current season ticket holders to renew seats in the same location as 2011 is Friday, August 31st. Current season ticket holders will also have the first option to upgrade their tickets to some of the new seating areas at the new PNC Field such as the Club seating area and 4Topps Tables.
The public can increase their chances in purchasing a 2013 season ticket package at PNC Field by signing up for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre season ticket wait list prior to packages going on sale. Interested parties can sign up for the wait list on line at www.swbyankees.com/waitlist . Signing up for the wait list will give the public the first opportunity to purchase tickets once they go on sale to the general public.
"This list gives our fans the opportunity to be at the front of the line when ticket packages go on sale September 10," said Crain. "We have a limited supply of ticket packages and with our prices being so affordable, demand is at an all time high."
With the purchase of 2013 SWB Yankees full season tickets, the Yankees will offer up to a five-year agreement where fans can lock in their price for the length of the agreement. Potential benefits of becoming a season ticket holder can include: batting practice on the field, personalized name plate on their seat, personalized jersey, special VIP events, ability to purchase New York Yankees tickets before the general public, behind the scenes tours of PNC Field and much more!
