New York Dragons News Release

New York Dragons Wide Receiver Kevin Swayne will be participating in the annual "Tunnel to Towers" 5k run on Sunday, September 30th at the Brooklyn/Battery Tunnel. The "Tunnel to Towers" run honors an American hero firefighter Stephen Siller who lost his life on 9/11.

Siller, a beloved husband and father of five, was a firefighter from Squad 1, Park Slope Brooklyn. The morning of September 11th was his day off and he was driving to go golfing with his brothers. He then heard the news that the Twin Towers had been attacked and he immediately headed back towards the city. When he was prohibited from driving through the Battery Tunnel, Siller ran on foot from the Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers to help. The "Tunnel to Towers" run retraces Siller's steps on the day he lost his life fighting to save others an honors all hero's who lost their lives on that fateful day.

Swayne will run along with other members of the New York Dragons/Islanders organization. The run begins at 10:00am and goes from the Brooklyn side of the Battery Tunnel to West and Vesey Streets in Manhattan. Join Kevin Swayne and thousands of others in this great cause by running or just cheering on with support.
