Swashbucklers Host the Alabama Hammers in Season Opener

(Lake Charles, La.) The Louisiana Swashbucklers host the Alabama Hammers in the season opener this Saturday, March 17th at the Lake Charles Civic Center. Kickoff is slated for 7:30pm.
In the one and only meeting between the two teams last season (3/26/11), the Swashbucklers prevailed 67-35. In the game, both teams concentrated on their ground attacks. For the Hammers, Germico McSwain was the big offensive weapon, rushing for two scores and catching two TD passes to boot. The Swashbucklers rushing attack was led by Kendrick Perry with 34 yards, while Bucs WR Sammy Knight had eight receptions for 104 yards.
Both QB's stuck to shorter pass plays. Hammer's QB Bill Ashburn was 14-29, while Bucs QB Ben McLaughlin went 20-31.
Defensively, the leading tackler was Swashbucklers DB Damien Huren with six.
Both teams play a "grind it out" style, and the game is expected to be very competitive, and very close...
