LAKE CHARLES, La. (May 23, 2009) -- Marcus Wilridge caught three touchdowns passes and Brandon Thomas' second interception helped the Louisiana Swashbucklers pull away to a 48-16 victory over the Houma Conquerors in a Southern Indoor Football League game Saturday night.
All three of Wildridge's catches went scores, including two in the first quarter as Louisiana (4-1) built an early 14-3 lead.
Houma (0-5) closed to 17-13 on Omar Haughbook's 43-yarder to Floyd Smith with 11:43 left in the second quarter and had a chance to take the lead. But Thomas' interception and 49-yard return put Louisiana up 24-13. The Bucs' defense held the Conquerors without a touchdown the remainder of the game.
