Kings and SIFL Part Ways
May 24, 2009 - Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL)
Florida Kings News Release
Volusia County, Florida- May 24, 2009-The Florida Kings are officially responding to the ludicrous expulsion from the SIFL. The SIFL cannot provide any documentation substantiating an expulsion. The Kings formally initiated this separation in writing, based on a series of documented and serious discrepancies. The Kings discretely reported each discrepancy to SIFL owner, Thom Hager. It is unfortunate that the SIFL responded in a retaliatory manner. The Kings vow to remain positive in order to maintain a level of integrity, professionalism, and excellence in order to carry out our mission.
It is unfortunate that the behaviors displayed by the SIFL support the series of serious discrepancies reported. Specifically, the Kings reported a player that shoved his private part in front of staff. However, the same player played throughout the game and was not included on the Swashbuckler's roster. Indeed, the imaginary expulsion justifies our justifiable initiation to part ways with the SIFL. Therefore, Florida Kings negate the slanderous press release informing the world that we were expelled. The Kings have marketed and made several accommodations on the behalf of the SIFL.
"The Kings may have experienced a loss on the football field but we have gained momentum off the field. The initiation to part ways is a burden lifted off of the Kings so that we can adhere to our true mission. The Kings are not focused on the traditional norms of Professional Indoor Football. We are more focused on the lives affected. This behavior by the SIFL is typical and doesn't separate them from the rest."
