Swarm's Culp, Patterson earn league awards

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League (NLL) announced today that Minnesota Swarm forward Chad Culp was named NLL Week Seven Overall and Offensive Player of the Week and goaltender Nick Patterson was named Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Culp, 24 (2/5/82), recorded four goals and four assists in Minnesota's 11-10 win over Philadelphia at Xcel Energy Center on Friday. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound forward tallied the game-winning with 3:08 remaining in the contest and also collected eight loose balls in the game. He ranks second on the team in scoring with 26 points (12-14=26) and tied for third with 34 loose balls in seven games for the Swarm this year. This is Culp's first ever weekly award.

Patterson, 23 (12/8/82), stopped 41 of 51 shots faced and recorded two assists in Friday's victory over Philadelphia. He is 4-0 on the season and leads the NLL with a 8.89 goals against average (GAA) and a .828 save percentage. This is the third weekly award for the 5-foot-11, 185-pound netminder this season. Patterson was named Week Four NLL Player of the Week and Week Six NLL Defensive Player of the Week.
