SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm (3-5) fell to the Edmonton Rush (4-5) Sunday afternoon 14-9 on Treasure Island Field despite a flurry of eight fourth quarter goals. The Swarm defeated the Rush 13-8 in Edmonton Friday night, but could not garner the weekend sweep.

"Friday we had a game-plan that we executed perfectly and it showed on the scoreboard," said Benesch. "Tonight we got away from it."

Callum Crawford and Ryan Benesch were Minnesota's leading scorers, finishing with six points apiece. Benesch had four goals, while Crawford dished out five assists.

Second year forward Corbyn Tao kicked off the fourth quarter with a goal off of a feed from Benesch that mounted a fervent comeback, scoring six unanswered goals after trailing by as many as 10. Tao has now recorded 10 points over the last four games.

"At halftime we made some adjustments and it was just a little too late," said assistant coach Bobby Keast.

Edmonton's visit to Minnesota offered viewers the unique opportunity to see a variety of young talent. With number one overall pick Mark Matthews playing for the Rush, the top four selections from the 2012 NLL Entry Draft were on the field during Sunday afternoon's rematch. T Brock Sorensen, T Kiel Matisz and F Shayne Jackson were picked consecutively by the Swarm last October.

Matisz was recently named the NLL's Rookie of the Week for the second time this season and collected five points (1g, 4a) in the game. The Robert Morris University product had a goal disallowed early in the first quarter after Edmonton challenged for a crease violation.

Jackson also came up big for Minnesota, recording four points (1g, 3a).

Zack Greer and Ryan Ward led the way for Edmonton, each scoring five points.

Swarm goaltender Tyler Carlson was subbed in for Evan Kirk toward the end of the first quarter and finished with 25 saves to go along with a save percentage of .758.

Sunday afternoon's game was Dog Day at the Hive, an event where fans were invited to watch the contest with their canine companions. There was a pregame dog walk around the upper concourse of the arena and a mascot lacrosse game at halftime. In attendance were T.C. from the Minnesota Twins, Goldy Gopher, Victor Viking, and more.
