
Surge Win 2-1 in Overtime

Defenseman Scott Jenks scored with 49 seconds left in overtime to lift the Mississippi Surge to a 2-1 win over the Pensacola Ice Flyers at a raucous Mississippi Coast Coliseum Saturday night.
Jenks slid home a rebound off a shot by Jeff Grant, just past the outstretched left pad of Pensacola goalie Adam Ward, The win, the Surge's fifth in its last six games, came in front of the largest home crowd of the season, 3,037. The night, honoring the nation's military even saw U. S. Navy member Lucas Gaige win $200 in the Surge Pitch-A-Puck contest.
Pensacola struck first on Andrew Harrison's goal at 14:19 of the first period. Adam Krug tied it for the Surge snapping a wrist shot home at 14:55 of the second period. Each team went 0-for-2 on the power play, after each team had scored two power play goals in the game between the two teams on Friday night.
