Mississippi Surge News Release
Hello 2013: The Mississippi Surge players have a bit of a chance to catch their breath, heading into the new year, having just completed a stretch of four games in five days, and seven games in 10 days. The Surge will host the Knoxville Ice Bears in a two game set Friday and Saturday. Each game starts at 7:05 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Holiday Recap: The Surge started the busy stretch of holiday week games beating the Mississippi RiverKings 2-0; then dropped a 5-2 decision at Huntsville; lost at Pensacola 4-0; and lost 6-5 in overtime to Louisiana.
Boys, Boys: Tempers erupted in Fridays game at Huntsville when a fight on the ice spilled into the Surge bench and Huntsville players then stormed the Surge bench. As a result the Surge's Branden Kosolofsky was suspended six games and Anthony Collins three. Each player has already served two games. Huntsville had four players and coach Glenn Detuello suspended a total of 19 games.
