Mississippi Surge News Release


Road Warriors: The Mississippi Surge continues a six game road trip this week traveling to Huntsville Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; the Mississippi RiverKings Friday at 7:05 p.m.; and Louisiana Saturday at 7:05 p.m. All three games will be televised at Mugshots Grill and Bar at Eisenhower Drive and Highway 90.

Split Week: With two games last week, the Surge won one and lost one. They dropped a 1-0 decision to Columbus on Wednesday night, and rebounded with a 4-0 road win at Louisiana on Friday.

First One: Goaltender Dan Clarke notched his first professional shutout stopping 18 shots against Louisiana on Friday night. Clarke has played each of the last five Surge games with a record of 4-1-0, a 2.21 goals against average and .913 save percentage.

Moving Up: Tommy Lange has moved up the Southern Professional Hockey League scoring chart. In the Surge's 10 games Lange has six goals and seven assists for 13 points, tied for second in the SPHL scoring race.

Happy Hour: Surge coach Jeff Bes will be the featured speaker at the next Hockey Happy Hour which takes place Tuesday at Fox's Pizza, 12449 Highway 49 in Gulfport (north of Interstate 10). He will be accompanied by a couple of Surge players. The Hockey Happy Hour begins at 6:30 p.m.

Back Home: The Surge won't return home until a two game set against the Fayetteville FireAntz December 14th and 15th.
