Mississippi Surge News Release
Busy Week: The Mississippi Surge will face its first slate of three games in three days (actually two and a half days) this weekend. The Surge travels to the north part of the state to take on the Mississippi RiverKings Friday night at 7:05; return home to host the Huntsville Havoc Saturday night at 7:05; then travel to Louisiana for a 3:05 matinee against the IceGators Sunday.
Close Calls: The Surge dropped a pair of one-goal games over the weekend. They lost 3-2 to Columbus on Friday night, and 4-3 to Pensacola on Saturday night.
Happy Hour: On Tuesday night, the Surge will hold its first Hockey Happy Hour of the season. Head coach Jeff Bes and selected Surge players will be on hand at Tom's Extreme Pizzeria at 1006 Robinson Street in Ocean Springs. The Hockey Happy Hour gets underway at 6:30 p.m.
Watch Friday: Mugshots will host a Surge watch party during Friday's game against the RiverKings. Fans can watch the game at Mugshots and win prizes during the intermissions.
Not So Rare?: Each game last weekend featured a penalty shot for the Surge. Tommy Lange scored against Columbus, while Adam Stuart was unsuccessful against Pensacola. In five games, the Surge has been involved in three penalty shots (not including post game shootouts).
Party time: With the holidays approaching, the Surge offers its ice level party boxes which feature 10 seats in each box. To reserve your party box call the Surge at 228-594-3800.
