Call To Arms: The Mississippi Surge will salute the military this weekend in a pair of home games. The Surge host the Columbus Cottonmouths Friday and the Pensacola Ice Flyers Saturday. Both games start at 7:05 p.m at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Every home game this year, the Surge offers a $10 walk up ticket for kids under 12.
Jersey Auction: On Saturday, the Surge will wear special military themed jerseys. The jerseys will be auctioned following the game in a live jersey auction.
3 out of 4: With a 5-0 win over the previously unbeaten Mississippi RiverKings on Saturday night, which followed a 5-4 shootout loss in Pensacola the night before, the Surge earned three out of a possible four points in the standings last weekend.
Goals Galore: Scoring two goals on Saturday, and one goal on Friday, Shawn Skelly leads the Surge in goals with three. He is tied for second on the team in scoring.
Helping Hand: With two assists in each game over the weekend Tommy Lange leads the Surge in scoring with four points on his four assists.
That Was Fast: It didn't take long for Corey Tamblyn to make an impact with his new team. Signing with the Surge on Friday, he had an assist in Pensacola and a goal and assist against the RiverKings, giving him three points in his first two games with the Surge.
