
Surge Take Down Number One IceGators in Thrilling Comeback Win

Biloxi, MS - It was a chilly night inside the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, as your Mississippi Surge defeated the top ranked Louisiana IceGators with back to back goals in the final period.
Surge Center Justin MacDonald kicked things off with an unassisted goal less than two minutes into the game. The IceGators responded with a goal by Shawn McNeil (Stuart, Brown) just in time to tie things up before first intermission.
Shortly into the second, a goal by Tommy Lange (Moore, Thorburn) gave the Surge their second lead of the night, until a tripping penalty by the Surge's "Big" Bill Baker lead to a Kirk Byczynski (McNeil, Robertson) power play goal. The IceGators finished the second period ahead of the Surge after a goal by Chris Wilson (Peppler, Cohen).
The fun truly began in the final period as Mississippi began their thrilling comeback by killing an early power play followed by a goal from Mike Lysyj (Kudroch, Baker). After a quick breakaway, it was Tommy Lange once again, giving the Surge its' final lead of the night with an unassisted toss into the net.
