Surge Sign Taylor Larsen

A highly successful college hockey player will be starting his professional career with the Mississippi Surge of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

Taylor Larsen, a six-foot, 180 pound, center from Blackstone, Mass., has signed with the Surge for the upcoming 2012-13 season. Larsen played college hockey at Assumption College based in Worcester, Mass.

"We're glad to have Taylor join us," Surge head coach Jeff Bes said. "He competes every night."

Larsen was the Northeast-10 Conference player of the year last season when he led the league in scoring with 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 point in only 23 games.

"I'm very excited to be part of the Mississippi Surge organization, and can't wait to get started and contribute at a high level," Larsen said.

The Surge will begin its fourth season of play in the SPHL on Saturday October 27th at home against the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Once again, this season, the Surge will have 28 home games at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
