Mississippi Surge News Release
BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Surge announced on Tuesday that the team will hold a food drive that will benefit The Back Bay Mission of Biloxi at the Surge's home games on March 26 and 27 against the Louisiana Ice Gators.
"Our partner, WLOX ran a story about the Back Bay Mission's urgent need for food on Monday evening. Tuesday morning, we contacted Jill Cartledge at The Back Bay Mission and pledged to be a major contributor in the efforts," said Surge assistant general manager Chris Birch. "With our team in first place and playoff bound, we anticipate two of our largest crowds for the last home stand of the regular season. The Surge are using this opportunity to open our doors and give fans an easy outlet to aid those in need on the Coast."
Fans who bring non-perishable food items in support of The Back Bay Mission's need to replenish their food pantry will receive entry forms to win team autographed Surge jerseys. One winner will be announced during the third period at each game.
All tickets for the final two home games of the regular season, March 26 and 27 against the Louisiana Ice Gators, are just $5. Tickets for all Surge home games can be purchased at the box office or by calling (228) 287-PUCK!
