Surge High Voltage Play Proves Too Much for RiverKings

Mississippi Surge and Mississippi RiverKings were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Mississippi Surge made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Luke Greiner at 12:23 of the second period.

Mississippi Surge was paced by Mark Thorburn, who registered one goal. Thorburn scored 14:17 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mississippi Surge. Bill Baker provided the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:54 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.
