Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs are staying busy this week with a couple appearances for the people of Chino Valley, AZ.

On Thursday, defenseman Tyler Butler stopped by Del Rio Elementary school to read to kindergarteners and first graders as part of the school's "Books and Blankets" event during their Reading Week campaign. Butler entertained the kids reading the children's book "Z for Zamboni", an alphabet book that uses the letters of the alphabet to describe different elements of the sport of hockey.

"Books and Blankets" is an annual event held by Del Rio Elementary where local members of the Quad-Cities communities read to children in an outdoor setting as they sit on blankets in the grass. This year's event started indoors with Butler's reading then shifted outside for the remainder of the evening. After his reading was finished, Butler took the time to talk with the kids about the importance of reading, the sport of hockey, and the upcoming Sundogs season.

On Saturday, Butler will be back out in Chino Valley along with teammate Luke Erickson. The two will work the annual Chino Valley Corn Dinner from 5:00-7:00 PM. Butler and Erickson will be on hand at Del Rio Elementary again serving corn to visitors as they head to the school for dinner as part of the event.
