Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - More than 70 fans showed up to provide their input, and one of them walked away with a Detroit Red Wings jersey signed by NHL Hall-of-Famer, Gordie Howe, on Wednesday night at the Arizona Sundogs first "Town Hall Meeting" of the offseason.
Two other fans walked away with prizes as Heidi Edwards won a suite night and free food at an upcoming game this year, while Cindy Taylor was the drawn winner for a Sundogs Prize Pack that included a jersey and other promotional items.
"In all, it was a fun night for all of us and an educational night for the organization," said General Manager Chris Presson. "The input of our fans is important to us. A lot of good ideas and points were presented to us and that's why we wanted to hold this event."
Presson and Head Coach Marco Pietroniro sat at a table on stage at Tim's Toyota Center and fielded questions for more than an hour from those who attended regarding the upcoming year for the Sundogs organization. Many of the topics covered included which players would be returning, which players would be leaving, ideas to increase attendance, the CHL's playoff format for this season, the schedule, the All-Star Game, and much more.
"This is a fun setting because people are able and capable to ask questions and sometimes their questions are strictly regarding them, but most of the time it makes us better," said Pietroniro.
Fans also had the chance to interact with Sundogs defenseman and captain, Tyler Butler, who was in the crowd passing around microphones to the fans that wanted to ask questions.
The Arizona Sundogs would like thank everyone in attendance who participated, and those who helped with the setup and organization of the event. Please visit arizonasundogs.com for the most updated information regarding future Town Hall Meetings and the upcoming season.
