Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs stayed busy this weekend as an active participant in the first of three "Best Fest" events as part of the Centennial Celebration for the state of Arizona.
The Sundogs set up a large street booth that included an information tent plus an inflatable hockey net where people could try and win prizes by shooting a hockey puck into a designated hole.
Tyler Butler and Luke Erickson were on hand during Saturday to meet fans, sign autographs, and inform festival-goers about the upcoming season. On Sunday, the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes joined the Sundogs for the festival's final day to promote the upcoming NHL season and the new affiliation agreement between the Sundogs and Coyotes.
The Sundogs were stationed in the Sports Zone section of the festival along with the National Football League's Phoenix Cardinals and Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks. At the end of Saturday, even the Cardinals cheerleaders took their try at the Sundogs shooting booth.
The three-day festival was held in downtown Prescott over the past weekend as more than 25,000 people attended. Along with the Sundogs, businesses and vendors from across the state were present. Musicians and acts provided entertainment all three days highlighted by American Idol winner, and Arizona native, Jordan Sparks on Saturday night plus Wayne Newton on Sunday.
The sixth season of Arizona Sundogs hockey is brought to you by Cliff Castle Casino-Hotel. The puck will drop on the new season on October 21st when the Sundogs host the Laredo Bucks. The Sundogs will also host the 2012 CHL All-Star Game in January. Season tickets, mini-plan, and single-game ticket information is now available by calling (928) 759-6600 or visiting arizonasundogs.com.
