
Summer Development Camp Begins Today

PORTLAND, ME - The Buffalo Sabres opened their summer development camp today at Niagara University in Lewiston, NY. The annual camp will take place from July 6-10 at Dwyer Arena on the campus of Niagara University. There will be on-ice sessions open to the public on Tuesday thru Thursday from 3-6 p.m. each day, and on Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The five-day camp will feature a roster of 41 players, including Nathan Gerbe, Tim Kennedy and Chris Butler. Also in attendance will be Zack Kassian, Buffalo's first-round draft pick (13th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Tyler Myers and Tyler Ennis, Buffalo's first-round selections in the 2008 Entry Draft, will also be attending.

The players will take part in both on-ice and off-ice workouts. The goals of the camp are to give the prospective players the fundamental ideas of the Sabres playing system and the conditioning programs of an NHL player. The camp participants will also study and examine NHL rules and the successful techniques a player must possess to become a professional athlete.
