Tennessee Valley Raptors News Release

Huntsville, AL - The Buffalo Destroyers of the Arena Football League have signed former Tennessee Valley Vipers offensive/defensive lineman, David Sucura.

"We are real happy for Dave," Vipers head coach, Kevin Guy, said. "This is what this league is all about, to get a chance to play at the next level. I guess if you're a center and you want to play in the Arena Football League, you need to play at Tennessee Valley first. This is our fourth center and our 15 player overall to move up in three years."

Sucura played in all 17 games at center and noseguard for the Vipers last season and recorded 4.0 tackles, 2.5 sacks for four yards and one fumble recovery. He Signed with the New Jersey Gladiators last season, but was released before the season started. He started three years at Michigan State from 1998-2000, one at left tackle, one at left guard and one at center.

Sucura becomes the fourth Viper from the 2002 team to sign in the Arena Football League. Kelly Snell and Todd Latoruette are both with the Detroit Fury while Chris Bell is with the Carolina Cobras.

Sucura also becomes the fourth Viper center in three years to sign with an arena football team. Matt Norwood is with the Fury, while Justin Cleveland and Bell are with the Cobras.

The Destroyers open their 2003 season next weekend as the Arena Football League kicks off their first season on NBC.
