
Substantial attendance increases in Quebec and Shawinigan

BOUCHERVILLE, Friday, January 8, 2010 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today revealed its latest attendance report and the statistics show that the Quebec Remparts and the Shawinigan Cataractes have noticed impressive attendance hikes (604 & 599 respectively). The Victoriaville Tigres are the top team in the QMJHL in regards to seating capacity (99.21%).
Of note, overall attendance is down slightly from last season (-3.1%). The League is averaging 3,302 fans per game.
A few interesting facts:
- The Remparts drew more than 13,000 fans three times during the month of December.
- The Cataractes should surpass 100,000 fans for the first time in franchise history.
- Seven teams saw their attendance rise (Drummondville, Moncton, Quebec, Saint John, Shawinigan, Val-d'Or and Victoriaville).
