Some of the Knighthawks' magic must have rubbed off on the four-time Southern Ontario Sprints Champion because less than 48 hours later he was crossing the finish line for his 29th Sprint Car victory. It capped off a week that began with sitting at the head table with two-time Super Bowl Champion and two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning of the New York Giants as well as Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

"I enjoy being there and getting to meet new people," said Styres. "I always enjoy seeing the superstars of the world in the community, getting to know them and meeting them."

Styres won the season opener on his home track, which is located just 100 yards from the front steps of his home. Glenn co-owns Ohsweken Speedway, a 3/8 mile clay oval, with his brother Curt, who is also the Owner and General Manager of the Knighthawks. It was been a remarkable turnaround for Glenn Styres, who broke his arm last year in a crash.

The victory last Friday was has continued a series of wins that began on June 27th when NASCAR legend Tony Stewart outraced the field at Ohsweken Speedway for his first World of Outlaws win. But rubbing elbows with a racing legend was just the beginning, as Glenn introduced legendary action star Sylvester Stallone at a gala dinner engagement in Hamilton, Ontario, on February 23rd. Ohsweken Speedway was a co-title sponsor of the event that benefitted the Canadian Diabetes Association. Two days later, he won a thrilling upset victory at the 40-lap Ronald Laney Memorial to conclude the 14th Annual "King of the 360's" Nationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa. It was Styres' first-ever A-Main win in the Sunshine State. He took the lead in the final corner, took the checkered flag and collected $10,000 after starting 18th aboard the No. 0 Arrow Express/Rochester Knighthawks sprinter. This past Friday, Styres won again after attending a fundraiser for children's charities in Rochester, NY.

"It's amazing," said Styres about his string of success. "It all started with the big fundraiser with Sylvester Stallone and we have been doing a lot of fundraising all across the country. I'm thankful to all of you people out there, it's because of you we are able to do that."

It was a big week for the speedway, as Engler Machine & Tool presented Season Opener plus International Modified Lite Championship Tour on Friday. After winning his heat race for the 30-car field, Styres entered the finals, which turned into a two-man race between Styres and Dain Naida. Styres began his move during the race's only caution flag on lap 20, but Naida refused to yield as he protected the top groove. Finally on lap 23, Styres captured the lead and his fourth career win in a season-opening Sprint Car event at Ohsweken.

"That was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone for coming back. I didn't win a single race last year so it's good to be in victory lane again," said Styres, as he stood in the Engine Pro Racing Winner's Circle. "I am glad you are all here to witness it. Man, I am back!"
